So, as I stated from my other 'laminated nickel' post.

Here is the pictures of my copy of gold Indian cent.

Its probably a novelty item, don't know much about it, but I Google around and there was gold plated Indian cent done, not cheap at the time it was selling, anyone remember these?

Hi Macmercury- 99.9999% chance it's exactly that, plated. BUT- there IS at least one example of Indian cent struck on a $2.50 gold blank, this should be very easy to differentiate, as gold is much more dense and therefore heavy than copper. Simply weigh it, or even compare the weight with another normal Indian cent in the other hand, one that is gold will be noticeably heaver. The Indian cent struck on a gold planchet sold for 6 figures if I remember right, it would make a lot of sense that someone would plate them and sell as novelties, riding on the PR of that coin when it sold. :')

Yes!
I saw those back months before in Mike Byers Mint Error New, couldn't believe it that it actually exist, than when I saw the lousy lot I bought, I though I saw a glimpse of hope, but only for a brief moment.

I like collecting images better. They help to explain things better. So I add them to my image library to share with others.
