Hey Gang, we all know what a thrill it is to win an E-bay Auction at 1/2 Trends or to make an out right BUY IT NOW purchase from a seller who doesn't know what he has, YES I'm guilty of doing it! (but I love it) Let me know what great deals/buys you have made in the past year! Glenn

2 weeks ago I purchased the following from a pawn shop here in town.........All for $100. I just pick the coins I want from a cookie tin he has and ask how much and I pay that price. This is not my first time buying from this guy. Although most is just what people call junk silver, I call it additions to my collection. Numismatic values of junk silver had nearly doubled in the past two years increasing in value much faster than high end coins. So I keep most of what I get. I did sell 3 1964 Kens and 2 Walkers yesterday though. 4 Franklin's 13 35% War Nickels3 Mercury dimes11 Barber dimes11 IHC's 1 1838 Large cent 1 1803 Large cent I also got the following for some photography work I have been doing for a friend of mine, although I told him I would do for free. 8 Franklin's 12 Walkers 3 1964 Kennedy's

1947 ICCS AU-55 Pointed 7 Dot Single HP Canadian $1 off ebay for $400. Trends is about $750. Very good eye appeal once I got it. Now resides in my safe deposit box at the bank.

I just secured the last scarce coin for my ZAR collection. 1892 Double Shaft 5 Shillings in a VF(looks cleaned), but then for a couple hundred dollars for that limited mint(around 4000) , I took the chance.

Hi !
My awesome buy is out of subject but...
I buy a stamp at 0.05$ at my local stamp club and I resell it.... 800$. 2 week later I rebuy 2 stamps at 0.05 and resell both for 700$.
This case is extreme but it's a reason for that I prefer buy stamp, you can always have a surprise in each lot that you buy. It's more difficult to find this kind of deal with coin.
Little calcul ! 0.15$ for 1500$ = 10 000% ?

I rolled the dice a bit and got a 20-cent piece for $82 shipped. I think it was because the pic was blurry. I asked him for more pics and he posted more blurry photos. He had perfect feedback and a 3-day return policy so I took a chance and when I got it I was pleasantly surprised by a VG+ coin which was way less expensive than I thought I would have to pay for a 20-cent piece. I took it to a dealer friend to make sure it wasn't a fake or anything (because I am not real well versed as far as fakes of a 20-cent piece) before my 3-day window expired and he was kinda shocked at the price I got it for. I rarely buy expensive coins on ebay, but I was real happy with that minor gamble.

There was a somewhat tough variety I wanted to get my hands on, and through a few bulk purchases and some good luck, I ended up with 28 of them when all was said and done. That's all I'm saying though, because I know there are more to be found ;o)

Purchased through buy it now on ebay what was listed as 6 proof quarters. Paid $1.00 for each plus a minimal shipping fee. Was very surprised when the coins I received were silver proof coins.
