I found an interesting penny while looking through my 74 pounds of pennies (that's a story for another day). This one has a weird indention in it, like the edge of another penny was pressed hard against part of it, pushing it inward.

Could this have happened when it was made? Or was this likely something that just happened later? The edge of another penny fits perfectly within the indention. You can barely make out in the picture from the back side that the penny is bent. If anyone cares, I can try to get a picture from the edge showing how much it is bent.

Hi semvhu

This cent has counting machine damage,, in 74 pounds of cents I would guess is it wont be the only one you find with this type of damage.

Ah, counting machines. I didn't even think about those. I have a couple of others similar to this one that I scanned but haven't posted yet. I think I'll just not post them and not waste anyone's time. Thanks!

Surely I have a penny in that 74 pounds of pennies that's worth a million bucks, right? Eh, probably not....

Actually counting machine damage will be parallel to the rim and will be smaller in circumference than the rim...which this is not. What this coin suffers from is an indention from the rim of another coin...probably crushed together with a hammer or other very hard hit.
