I've found another upset coin! Happy faces all around! This time it's a 50 cent coin (2010 (regular, not the Australia day one)) and it's off by 30°. Has anyone else found something like this(for the 50 cent coin)? Once again, sorry for the image quality. Edited by Mitchell 02/18/2011 8:07 pm

Adjusted the image links, Mitchell.. I hope those are the 2 you meant to include. If not, you can edit your post and change the picture # (both in the original post were #7).

Can't say I've ever heard of a 50¢ upset, let alone seen one! Very nice pick up!
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

This coin is significantly rarer because I presume the dies have to be fixed to fit in the planchet otherwise the error would have been easily spotted. Definitely get some help on this coin because it's my first time seeing it too, let alone hearing it! Wow.

never heard of a rotated 50-cent before - well-done.

I think what you're calling "upset" in commonly called a rotated reverse in the US. Easiest way to photograph/scan such a coin is put it in a square 2x2. When you flip to the other side, it will be obvious how much it rotated. In US coins you see rotated reverses frequently on large cents. Back to the OP coin. Unless I miss my guess, rotations would have to occur in multiples of 30°, or the rim wouldn't fit in the collar. Since it looks like yours is two (of 12) flat edges off, that would make it 60° rotated. I've done real well selling errors on ebay, and the bigger the coin, the more valuable the error tends to be. If you go that route, make sure you are available on ebay US as well as OZ, because that's where the error market is strongest.
