For the record I meant no offense to the 25% of dealers who actually CARE about the coins, their rarity, education, and knowledge in general. Some dealers are very fine people...but they are a definite minority.

I guess by the tone of some responses, I am just an idiot. If I knew the answer, I would not have asked. Also, I have seen QUITE a few items on Antiques Roadshow that were not the real thing, HOWEVER, had value. Sorry for bothering all you experts.

AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP FROM THOSE REALLY TRYING TO HELP OUT! Sorry that I have been out of the collecting loop for the most part since silver was removed from our coins. Used to collect for intrinsic value as well as numismatic value but now the intrinsic values have basically disappeared. So when I found this coin in my bag of 'junk silver' just purchased-looked for an answer and thanks for it.
Rest in Peace

You're not an idiot. You're ignorant, and there's nothing wrong with that. Ignorance simply means you don't know the answer, and that what you came here to find out.

Idiots get the answer, then insist that they're right even after it's been proven they're wrong.

I just came from a local thread where they were arguing about a historical building. I never saw so many people posting "facts" that were everything from their (erroneous) opinion to outright lies. How do I know? I was a tenant and de facto caretaker of the building for 20 years!

We all start from learning. No one was born knowing it all. And I'm sure others were happy to help. Some come across a little gruff. Don't let it get to you, we don't.

Yes, uninformed. I think most should be able to know that just reading my posts. I have really been out of the loop in 'collecting' like I said and didn't know if there were any issues with Kennedy halves and I had this very perfect 'made' coin. So who knows. Who ever put it together REALLY did a good job. Thanks again for all that have helped me figure it out!

I'm not sure what 'tone' the original poster here is talking about. I read throught he entire thread a few times and cannot find anything where anyone called anybody else anything. I'm confused - perhaps I'm the idiot.
