I'm still pretty awkward when it comes to grading toners. This morgan was in a clock, along with silver halves, quarters, and dimes for at least 20 years or so and has a gold and purple haze look to it. All the other coins in the clock toned about the same colors, but the Morgan toned the most. Any help with grading would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time...

Looks mint state, with a possible old cleaning. The fine granularity visible on the portrait is unusual. If this were a copper coin I'd suspect light corrosion but you don't often see that on silver. The angled photos aren't the best for grading.

The dark tone spots hurt the eye appeal and limit the grade. I'd say the highest realistic grade would be MS-62.

What other coins were in the clock?

a 1964 Kennedy half, 2 1964-D Washington quarters, and 8 1964 Rosies'... A very odd combination to go with a Morgan. What held the coins was like a plywood, or a different kind of wood. The toning color is what got me, if it didn't come from my mother-in-law I wouldn't have believed it. Her father passed away a few years ago, and I'm trying my best to help her out.

Here's some better straight ahead pics, and one that shows the color of tone fairly accurately... Thank You

Straight on she looks better, maybe 63. Toning is blotchy and hurts the eye, and I normally lioke some toning

Tough to tell 100% from the photos but I will say MS-64 for this coin relatively mark free. Toning is a bit ugly but nothing so bad that it will seriously detract from the grade. Slabbed, I think it might trade at a slight discount to market (8-10%) due to the appearance.
