The first question to consider is this: What is doubled? I see nothing doubled on your coin.If it were machine doubled it might look like this:

Looking-For-Some-Education

Machine doubled coins show the flat step/shelf like appearance which isn't really doubled but damage during the striking process.
If it were a doubled die you would expect to see the devices enlarged in a rounded fashion like this:

Looking-For-Some-Education

On your coin I don't see any doubling that you would expect to see on a doubled die.
I do see on your coin very late die state dies used to strike your coin.
Hope this helps.

Is there such a thing as a late die stage for the DDO?

Die states can be early, middle, late and in between etc.
All coins (dies) have these stages of die wear.

And all of the stages of the 1980 DDO look CLEARLY like the doubled die it is. If your coin doesn't look just like the one posted by coop, then it's not the coin you're hoping. There aren't any exceptions, if it's not the same, then it's not the same.

PLEASE do not take images down once you ask a question about them and are satisfied with your answer. It makes the entire thread completely pointless because once the image is gone it's like taking the subject out of the sentence.

Sorry guys. I didn't realize that when I delete a picture from my computer that it erases it from here. Very sorry. Not the best with computers.

I thought that was why some images were disappering! Same thing holds true if you delete them from a third party media site.
