Wow, I wonder how far away they were. That would not be an easy target!

A few I found in some rolls - the one in the middle looks like someone hit it with a surface grinder.

I used to find zinc pennies like those with jagged chunks missing, metal detecting in city parks..
Possible victims of some big mean lawn mower blades..

I thought something sharp did that, but the outer layer is shelved over the zinc core. I kept it because it was interesting and neat.

Do you compliment PMD? I really like that "toning" on your second post 52Raymo! Suppose that would come from a blow-torch? Also, any idea on the first post one? I've seen them like that and always thought that happens through some sort of corrosive.

Found this today while checking for Canada Cent varieties. The copper jacket got compromised. Looks like moisture or something has gotten underneath and began attacking and decomposition / oxidation is occurring. The copper skin is starting to chip, bubble, lift and separate from the core.... But I kind of like the toning.
forgot to add its a 1999

Looks like she's blowing a bubble with grape bubble gum! Almost cut in half on that dime. Side cutters maybe?
