You have a simple die clash mark, and from just looking through a tube of 1983 cents I can tell you that piece does belong. All of mine have the exact same thing.

Would you say with the letter Y showing on the reverse its worth about a dollar. Is that about right?

Only if you can find someone willing to pay that. Honestly, anyone who searches through circulation can accumulate the minor stuff in roll quantity. The only people with an interest are the people finding it, ergo, if those who appreciate that type want it, they can find it in plentiful quantities.
Just because a dramatic clash can sell for $20 or more, doesn't make something far, far less significant and quite common, worth any money.
The only thing that your cent is worth is what another is willing to pay for it. Period. There is no other way to arrive at a value.

I just found five die clashes out of one hundred cents with the letter Y on them. Way to common for me. I'm throwing them all back in circulation now. See I didnt really pay much attention to the memorial building searching. But with more die varieties being found involving the memorial building I'm looking at everyone now. So I guess I'm not very firmiliar on how common stuff is involving the building. I'm just going to look for the dramatic clashes now.

I have found none. So I would say they are rarer than you think.

Thanks, but I know I will eventually find one. I like the 2009 clashes better. I have extras of this one, just waiting to trade with other ones that they find extras of.
