Hi, can anyone work out the date for this Indian Head cent please the hole in it covers it up. thanks

Looks like an 1860  It has the thickness of a CN

I can narrow it down for you - it is NOT an 1859 since it has a shield on the reverse, Other than that, hard to say what the date is with the hole on top of it.

Pretty big hole at that. I agree, it looks CuN, so that narrows it down to 4 years

My guess is 1861...I think I see the curl of the 6 and the line of the 1, but....

Well, the last feather is between the I and C or America, so that brings it to 1859-1886 range. 59 has no shield, so now down to 1860-1886. The N is too strong on the reverse for it to be an 1877 (sorry!). It does look like a copper-nickel to me too, narrowing it to 1860-64 range.

regardless of the year - the hole in it renders it nearly worthless. at least not more that 1 cent. its just a cool coin to own. keychain or charm would probably be a fitting place for this one.

I see a 1--0, so by mycrob's assessment it's an 1860. Not nearly worth the trouble though.
