This one is raw, just purchased on ebay for right under Greysheet VF-20 bid. Thought it might make XF40, IMO at least a VF-30. What do ya'll think?

I think it may be the lighting in the picture, but I'll have to wait until I get it in person. If I don't like it when I get it in person, I can always return it.

I think you're pretty brave buying a coin like that raw on ebay. It looks just a touch shy of XF40 but would be undergraded at VF30. Anyways, have it authenticated after it arrives and best of luck.

VF-35 details, cleaned. General advice on cleanings is knock it down a full grade category so I'd say worth F-15 money sorry...
(hopefully just the lighting!)

Paid $350 for it. Not really too worried about it being authentic, ebay policy protects the buyer from counterfeit coins, so if for some reason it does come back fake, I can file a claim and get my money back. The seller also has a 3 day return policy so if I get it and hate it, I can just send it back. I did really well on another 14-D about a year ago, paid $465 for it raw, got it in an AU-50 PCGS holder, greysheet bid is $1,225 :)

Boy I hope this is OK. As a general rule I won't buy anything over 200.00 not certified by PCGS or NGC.

Quote: eBay policy protects the buyer from counterfeit coins It's ebay, don't count on that. Quote: As a general rule I won't buy anything over 200.00 not certified by PCGS or NGC

Cheek and jaw are a touch flat for XF. Reverse is a slide into XF though.
Wish the pics were better - too dark.
Would take a swing at the XF submission though.

Anyways, have it authenticated after it arrives and best of luck. The real question is WHY? Buying often fake, unslabbed key date coins on ebay is just setting yourself up for failure. 99+% of the raw, key date coins being sold on ebay are either fake or have problems. That's why they are there.

Quote: eBay policy protects the buyer from counterfeit coins YEA, RIGHT! I agree with Dave. ebay doesn't protect SQUAT. The site is LOADED with fake and problem coins. They will help you get your money back, but there's ZERO protection from fake coins.
