Here;s my error dime, posted pictures in the wrong thread yesterday, mods feel free to remove other thread,,, any comments appreciated, what do I call this error? any value to it (other then 10 zinc pennies - please - I'll only take 10 copper pennies for it )

What is it that makes you say it's an error. It looks like a normal dime to me.

Was it supposed to be a 1988d? I am sorry bud, but it looks like any old ordinary dime to me too.

Looks like a tired circulated dime. Looks also like it was struck from VLDS dies.

Not until you mentioned it. That's a common occurrence, more so with cents but does happen
on dimes as well.

Very Late Die State

Early Die State.
As the dies age, they start showing their age by details/field starting to flow together. This is not seen on the EDS examples
As the dies start showing die flow they are leaving the MDS.
Heavy die flow appears on LDS examples.
In the VLDS die examples the devices/fields flow together like a snow drift.

If you're talking about the ridge and how the clad composition isn't uniform, it's normal. If you take a look at other clad dimes, quarters, etc. You'll notice that the "separation" isn't exactly centered or straight.

I'm pretty much sure that it's a die break, look at the area's I've circled.

i dont see any die breaks on this coin, just a slight Misaligned die.

other than that, its a normal coin

It is a slightly misaligned die strike, and they are very, very common.
