There is something going on with the lips here. I can't figure this one out. Can someone help? On the upper lip it looks like a die chip maybe? On the bottom lip there looks to be a die crack running down through the beard.

Sure looks that way. Is the chip also connected to the rest of the crack ?

If the device was touched during a polishing, then the area would be raised. So it may have took a little of the edge of the deeper device in that area. No doubling, just a removal of the crisp die device.

Evidence points to this being from a clash that was mostly removed by the heavy die polishing.
