Picked up a 74-s on the cheap and inspected the "R" on the obverse and can see the doubling at the end of the tip. What does a "s/s" suppose to look like, mine is very "mushy". Finally, the are in DOLLAR has the same dbl. mark as on the front.... Thanks.

It's a minor doubled die. I can't wait till you find a strong doubled die if you noticed a minor one like yours. The stronger ones just JUMP out at you.

I guess "minor" doesn't equate to a premium, even with the same on the rev....

What does the MM suppose to look like if she's a S/S?

S/S mintmark? Same basic notching as on your "R" there...except on an S.

I once found a 1974 Ike dollar (don't remember the mint) that had a quadrupled die reverse. Very minor steps of separation from one to the other, but for distinct serif tips on the letters.
