I have a couple of questions about this 1983 P LMC. I have labled the coin with 1 & 2.

1. Are these just die polishing marks or are some of these die trails?

2. Do you see doubling on Abe's chin?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Chris

The arrows marked one are heavy die polishing lines. They usuall only affect the field, but the abuser must have felt tough on those dies that day. The mark on the jaw? Never seen that before?
ADDED:
I just check a few I have here. That is just part of the design for this year. They all have it.

It's a simple matter of polishing until whatever they wanted to remove came off the die - that's all. I highly doubt it has anything to do with frustration or being tough. A tell-tale sign that the lines are die polishing is the missing edges to the details. This is caused by the polishing.
