Well as many of you know, the south has been devistated with many many tornadoes. Many people have been killed. I'm right in the midst of
that. They have to rebuild the power system to give everyone electricity. Noone where I live has power, and I was saving my laptop battery, but its going dead anyways, might as well post something.

When we went to the south, were they have power, we went to the bank and I picked up a box of pennies. (Dont you love the looks the teller gives you when you ask for a box?)

I thought it was a crappy box. So what do you think?

hopefully, since they aren't rolled, they haven't been looked through that much.

I have friends in Albertville without power. They said there are gas stations there running off generators.

It's nice that you can put your mind on something else with all the devastation that has occurred. I'm also assuming you still have a roof over your head, is that right? I wish you the best.

Yeah, it missed my by a few miles. Lots of huge trees have blown over though.

I live in Albertville, too. Its just crazy, we have like 3 more days untill we get power. Hopefully less.

Oh, I already searched them. lol

I give my best wishes to the victims down south.

My advice: hope for some electricity a.s.a.p. -- then get a lamp, charge up that laptop, and hit another box! (By the way, I think it's always cool to find a teen LWC, so you didn't do that bad.)

I love ammo Boxes. I currently hold some coin albums in them. I have two that each way close to 25 lb each. When I got my world coins I stuffed them into an ammo box and took them to school. Barely fit in my backpack and I got very odd looks when I would pull out an ammo box at lunch time.

Hambone-I live in SE Alabama; my elderly mom and dad live in McCalla (about 25 miles north of Tuscaloosa), my daughter, son in law and grandchild live in B'ham and cousins in Pleasant Grove and Concord. All are ok but still without power. I lived though a bad tornado in 1957 but nothing like what happened this week. Glad you are ok. And yea, roll searching is a good get away.

It's good to know I'm not the only ones who uses ammo boxes. Lol
Or the only collector who lives in northeast Alabama. My cousins live in birmingham...

haha I thought it was just one of the metal bank boxes the banks have
Around here they have these metal bank boxes and metal trays
the boxes hold the same amount as the boxes we get to roll search (25,100,250,500)
and the trays hold 20 bucks for nickels, I think 10 bucks of pennies and I am not too sure about the dimes and quarters
I hope one day a rookie teller will hand me one of those trays/boxes to keep my rolls in

Hang in there Hambone. My in-laws all live in the Hunstville and Arab area. We talk to them on a regular basis. I can't imagine the mess down there. With all the utility trucks heading south (I'm in Northern Ky) last Thursday, power should be back up in a day or two. Better days are ahead.
