It looks to be a large date. If you draw a line from the top of the 9 and the top of the zero, the top of the seven would be even with them (small date). The large date has the top of the seven below the top of the 9 and 0.

I think Chuck (from coppercoins.com) needs to see this. Looks like a DDO to me.

I guess the holder is throwing me off..a bit of glare. I was looking at the inner loop of the "9". A little blurry right there.

I agree the seven seems lower than the others, to indicate a large date, but the curl of the nine is fooling me.

This is interesting. Some of the devices seem to lean towards a middle to later die state, some seem earlier. Both tapers look present on the nine. Seems to show a slight notch on the 7. Seeing the rest of liberty might help but seems to slightly fade as you go from left to right. Liberty and the height of the 7 are not always good indicators of a small date. I'm leaning towards (considering die state/stage) that this coin is an MD Sm. date. MD being Machine Doubling. Mintmark shows the same effect along with a slight chip.

This is a Large Date cent
The bottom of the seven is clearly below the bottom of the zero.

The big giveaway to me was the date and mint mark. They are doubled in the same direction. Great images Tracy!

This is a large date.
The lining up of the top of the numbers in the date alone is not always a great indicator but the giveaway for me is the inner curve of the 9.
There is no question that there is doubling.
Nice coin!

It's the 0 in the date that fooled me. Usually I can tell Machine Doubling from the good stuff; maybe because it's a proof that I got fooled.
