Any way to get a close shot of the top picture? Or at least tell us what it says. As far as worth. It's unlikely that it's silver so it's worth a few bucks to collectors but I doubt any more then that. Report this Post to the Staff

They were still experimenting with steamships in the early 1800's. The picture on the coin looks to be a good representation of a commercial steam ship. There were experimental ones in the late 1700's, but there would have been no reason to include an experimental (and not well known at all) type ship on a Kentucky coin.
