Hey all, Picked this up for $22, thought that it was a very good deal. What do you think it would grade? Thanks Z-

I'd say you got a GREAT deal on that one! Looks to be MS63 BN with a nice wood grain om the reverse.

Congrats! I don't buy or collect woodies, but that is still a steal at that price. Congrats!

I knew that it was a good deal but I didn't think that it was MS62 BN? I was thinking AU50 but I've only been collecting for about a month so I'm still learning! Thanks for the info!

The only reason it is a 62, is because of the reverse. Just a slight rub on Lincoln's cheek. A couple of small bag marks to the right of his chin and in the field above the date. Great wheat stocks and kernels on the reverse.
If not for the woodie reverse, would have been a 64 BN with a shot at 65 BN.

Call me strict but I see an AU55/58. no mint luster and slight, slight wear on the high points of the obverse.

Thanks for all the opinions! I did really only pay $22 for it! It was in a jar that a guy had a bunch in and he let me go through them, I picked out what I was interested in and he gave me prices. I wasn't going to argue!

Now that I look on my better home monitor (my work monitor sucks), I have to agree. This is an AU coin....I have to retract my MS estimate. There's definately signs of circulation, I see it in the wheat stalks, beard and just a little on the cheek. There's also some staining in the right, obverse field I missed...that cannot happen at the Mint. You also have to consider that a new master obverse hub was put into service in 1915, these are normally nicely detailed. AU-50/53 at best.

If that's an AU coin, I'll happily fill my LWC book up with those!

Thanks for all the input, I personally think that the coin would grade AU55-AU58 but thats having it in person and being able to look at it up close in really great lighting. I'm going to post a few other coins later on tonight!

The obverse looks like a BN62. Nice coin....regardless of the grade. GREAT find at a great price. Congrats!!

The reverse wear just doesn't support a MS grade on this one, I don't care how good that obverse is. Still, at $22, you put the Jessie James to this seller. I could give that a high AU, easy.
