Just got this one. Probably the easiest to obtain teens era D-mint cent, but still it's nice to have it! The reverse does have a very weak 'A' in AMERICA.

Once again, guess what PCGS calls it.

They could hold that grease-filled "A" against it in the market grade, even those UFOs, otherwise known as "carbon spots." If they did, they gave it a MS-63RD; didn't, a MS-64RD.

I love all of the 15's cents because they sharpened up the hubs that year. I'm always looking for very sharp examples.

NICE coin! These are tough in full red. MS-63RD

Nice coin. Has Bad Thad said - sharp examples do exist. Check out all the beard hair.

63.

Depending on the lighting for this photo, they might have given this a "details - color" distinction.

I think they awarded it 64 for the lack of nicks on the obverse and reverse fields. I think there's some leniency towards spottiness on these early Denver pieces, which did not receive the red carpet treatment.

I can see it if the luster is good. TPG's like luster and will ignore many imperfections if it's strong. There's also a chance the copper formate spots on the reverse were not there when the coin was slabbed....I'd say that's most likely. They appear fresh and fuzzy like they have recently formed.

SecretGlitch, that's a good grade on it. Personally, it's the grade I'd have given it. That's how I know.

PS: Every now and then the over-paid PCGS market graders will get one right.
