to the forum!

You pulled that out of circulation?!

That's a NICE score!

I can't really judge the grade from the pics, but from what I can tell, I'd say it's most likely Mint State. It is likely in the neighborhood of MS63/64 and probably red-brown. It looks like it might have just enough brown to keep it out of full red status.

AU means about/almost uncirculated. The 1 grade before MS "Mint state" Try putting your camera on Micro and taking the picture. If you have that capability

Nice one.

With larger pics, we can give you a closer grade, looks like it may go MS.

Nice 1909-VDB. Numismedia lists it for $13-$17 in AU condition, $21-$33 in MS 61-63 (red brown). Get us some better photos so we can help you pinpoint the grade. And welcome!

Welcome to CC!

You don't need a microscope for grading pictures. You're pretty close and with some tweeking you'll get decent pictures. The problem is the size:

1) Crop your pictures.
2) Shoot for a file size of 99k (your pics now are 13k and 7k)
3) Generally, 800x600 should be your target image size.

Oh....only a guess based on small pics, your coin looks to be MS-64 RD or RB.
