I was checking a Mint roll of 2010-D Shield Reverse Cents and I noticed that the copper has been pushed toward the rim and forms a curved area of raised copper. The raised area is on both the obverse and reverse on opposite rims.

The letters are still visible, but didn't seem to rise the same way as the flat area of copper. Is this an error, of just poor minting at Denver?

YES, I know you need to see pictures, I'll post photos first thing tomorrow.

Sounds like the same Die Deterioration frequently seen on a lot of Zincoln's, and to a lesser extent on other copper Lincoln's and sometimes other coins.

Here are the photos of the 2010-D Cents with the raised area just inside the rim. It is level with the tops of the letters in some places.

Thanks Conder and Thad. I thought it had to be common because of the number I'm finding.

I bought a box of Cents from both mints. I've noticed that the Philadelphia coins are in much better shape than the Denver coins. They have noticeably fewer bag marks and scratches and I didn't see any of the Die Deterioration on the Philadelphia coins either. Is it common to get a better grade of coins from Philly or did I just get a bad days production from Denver?
