I really like this set. I originally purchased it to upgrade my book. But, the set looks so nice, I have kept it together. The pictures do not do the set justice. The fine scratching is on the covers.

The 42-S, I need to unscrew the cover and put it back inline. The coins are in the holes tight. So now I have to put it back in place. It moved during shipping and handling by the USPS.
I paid less than $95. It may seem high but, I knew exactly what I was getting. If you start looking for Gem Unc Silver Wartime nickels less than $10 each starts to look pretty fair.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I think I agree with you in keeping the set in the holder it came in. It would be a shame to waste a customized holder like this one. That is one great looking set of War Nickels.

The more I look at these Wartime Nickels set the more I like them. I looked on ebay, the "Buy it Now" coins listed at $20 and higher are not as good as the worse coin in this set. Not that I would break up the set. When they are all 5 full steps under 3x magnification, I think they would all grade out fairly high. I have several rolls of the circulated stuff, the high spots wore very fast on them. The circulated coins look nothing like these. I like the way they are "sandwiched" in the holder. I think the good stuff will rise in price in the future. Almost 70 years old and they look like the day they were minted.

I used an old Konica Minolta Dimage Z10- set to auto, no flash, and macro on some pictures. Light from the window and a 200 watt light bulb that I use when I REALLY want to see what something looks like.

I completed a Jefferson "folder" awhile back of the "circulated" variety, so to speak. And I have around a couple hundered Silver War Nickels in total.....but I hadn't had any in high grades, and this always bothered me......so a few months back I went to work on my Jefferson Dansco with Proofs, and only bought "high grades" to put in there...... key dates are all in there now, including all uncirculated War Nickels !.....only a few left of the others to get to be complete ! So, as much as I like your "holder" for these War Nickels, I would vote that you put them into the Dansco where they'll look INCREDIBLE !! .....
