So I roll search nickels and I tried restoring a completely dateless buffalo that I found in vinegar. can anyone tell the date of this one? looks like 1919 or 1929 to me. Either way it is not rare, it is just bugging me that I don't quite know what it is yet. By the way it's been soaking for like a month.

Looks like 1919 to me. Was it basically completely dateless before? 1919 is common in dateless, 1929 usually is at least partial and shows the gap between the 2 and 9.

i threw it back in the vinegar to see if I can eventually get it more clear. but yes it was completely dateless, and its been soaking for like a month. so i'll agree so far it's a 1919. i'll check in a week or two to see if it comes clearer. thanks for the input guys! it is a really ugly color and texture now, but at least I know the date. lol.

Try Vinegar and Salt, will work quicker to get you a date, couple hours max.

It's either a 1819, 1829, 1919, 1929 or something else.
