I found one of these in a pawn shop for $15. 40% UNC Ike, half and quarter still sealed. I don't know how much it's really worth, but I got it way below melt...

I like the "Ike" dollar. I have one, but its not in the best condition. I'd like to find one of the sets you just picked up. Sounds like you got a pretty good deal.

There's lots of them on ebay, but not that cheap. This pawn shop had very few coins, and had no idea of their real value.

Ikes are really nice. I always wanted to find a 40% one; I didn't think it would be so soon.

The one I have is 40% silver. It's in a package with a blue chip. Somehow, even in a package, it got a fingerprint on it.

If it is in a package with a blue chip it may be 40% silver but it isn't a 1976. 1971 - 74

ajohnson1983: I was just coming to the forum to ask a question about a bicentennial quarter that I have. It is a 1974 proof 40% silver still in the package but, just like you, it some how got a fingerprint on it. Strange.

Assume you meant 1976. Not too strange, people at the mint and at the packaging area do have fingers.

You paid $15 for about $21 worth of silver. I say you did well.
