My favorite error is the only one I currently have. Its a dime planchet with 90-95% offset (hope I have the term correct). The part shown is around 8 o'clock on obverse/10 o'clock on reverse.

Quote: My favorite error is the only one I currently have. Its a dime planchet with 90-95% offset (hope I have the term correct). Close! It's off-center, but still a nice error. I have one cent that's off by 98%. It's just short of being a blank. I also had a saddle struck cent that both strikes were off-center by about 95% with a large arched area in the center of the coin. I love errors, if you didn't notice.

Mine are a 1983LMC DDR graded MS 63 by ICG. I found it in a roll about 2 years ago. The other is an XF 1857 FE cent with doubled letters, a doubled eye and broken wing tip bought on ebay without realizing it was a Snow variety until I looked at it closely in hand. The seller missed it too. Those mis-struck coins in this post are awesome.

The problem is that your coins are varieties and not errors. But they are nice coins in my book.

If I am going to reply at all to this thread, I would have to share three coins..... I have tried to pick one over the others, but decided to share all three.... I have pulled all three from circulation.... 1. 2000 off-strike 2. 1954 die chip (chunk) 3. 1998 Feeder Finger Damage

You're right coop. Mine are the wrong category. Guess I just had to pop my suspenders.

Coop, True, but all variety coins started with someone making an error at the mint. They just made a mistake that resulted in the same outcome for more than one coin. Some coins ride the line between error and variety, too. I only posted the VAM to show the OP what it was, not that it was an error, or even my favorite coin. I love both error and variety coins and wanted to show what a nice VAM looks like.

My favorite is still my 1882 O over S Morgan dollar. It also has a nice die clash.

Found this roll searching a while back. Some said it was a die gouge, but I honestly don't know. My favorite, the 1982 no P I also found roll searching but I think it's a varitey? or is it an error?
