Thanks EGCollector. These coins are so well designed that they contain a large amount of history written on that small surface.Husen shah has struck his name, his father's name and his grand-father's name and the year of issue on one side of the coin.Other side contains his titles and an approval of the Khalifa. That compactness and the calligraphic innovations really compel me to admire the talent. And those Ibrahim shah coins are like beautiful pictures engraved on metal esp.the obverse.

A brief history of Jaunpur

After Sultan Firoz shah (1351-1388.AD), Delhi was in anarchy. Giyaz ud din Tughlak-2 (1388-89.AD),Firoz shah Zafar ( 1389.AD) and Abu Baker (1389-90.AD) preceded Muhammad-4 (1390-94.AD ) in quick succession.
During the reign of Muhammd-4, his minister threw off allegiance with Delhi and established an independent Kingdom in the Eastern Province comprising of parts of the present day Uttar Pradesh and Bihar states of India. It was known as "Sharqi"(Eastern) Sultanate. The Kingdom existed for more than 80years (1393-1476.AD) and in the end Bahlul Lodi(1451-1489.AD) of Delhi annexed it back to Delhi.
