I wonder if the person woke up one morning and said, "Hey, I think I'm going to make tools out of coins today." Don't know why, but they do look cool.

You always think you've seen it all when it comes to people's imaginations, but somehow, somewhere, sometime, someone comes up with another awesome idea and amazing Masterpiece! Bravo and Kudos to the artist. Glenn

Nice. I wonder if he destroyed (for art's sake) any rarities?
Nah!! They were probably searched bags.

That is definitely one of the most amazing bits of creative craftsmanship I have seen in a long while. I wonder who the individual is, and if there is a website?

Let's see. If I had to grade these on the Hand Tool scale...
Tape measure HT-67 Keyhole Saw HT-65 Ladder HT-66 Spade & Shovel HT-68 Hammer HT-68 Hand Saw HT-69 Screw Driver-64+
The problem is going to be the slabs, I'd like to be there when they show up at PCGS.

Cool art work, I love the dime tape measure. Isn't it illegal to do that?

Quote: (Text as of 2/19/02) 18 U.S.C. §331:
Whoever fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales or lightens any of the coins coined at the mints of the United States, or any foreign coins which are by law made current or are in actual use or circulation as money within the United States; or whoever fraudulently possesses, passes, utters, publishes, or sells, or attempts to pass, utter, publish, or sell, or brings into the United States, any such coin, knowing the same to be altered, defaced, mutilated, impaired, diminished, falsified, scaled or lightened - shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. (Emphasis added.) So is "fraudulently" the key word there?

I don't see the coins in this art to be fraudulently altered. No intent to commit fraud here IMO. It is a piece of art not a dime made to look like a quarter in an effort to defraud someone.
