It took some time but today I did find my first silver.

They were two Roosevelt dimes. One was a 1960 and the other a 1964. I was looking at an old photo of the farm and saw where the old cloths line was. So I had a 1/2 hour this evening and started the work the area. Bingo I hit silver.

We have lived here for 11 years and the place has really changed since the mid 1800's. I was finding a ton of old cut nails, broken farm machinery and just tons a small scrap iron/steel.

I'm not rich but I will take today's find. I certainly have a lot of time to go over these 150 acres. Prior to this my oldest find was a 1960 Penny plus a lot a copper pennies and clad coins.

It's always nice to find silver
With 150 acres you have definitely got some ground to cover. Try learning your detector so you can figure out what is junk and what is something you want to dig up. Not sure what detector you have, but their is plenty of info online and usually videos on youtube. Happy Hunting!

Siver right out of the ground...can't get much better than that!

Congrats!

Can I ask what part of the country you are in?

Edit: Good use of the ol noodle to deduce where you'd most likely find coins dropping out of the fresh wash...great thinking!

MMorgan22 best way to attack is to dig every thing,

yes I know there's a lot of metal but sometimes people leave there wealth in tin cans,

and sometimes you will find a relic so

my motto is "go low and slow and dig every thing"

Good one MKFarm keep up the good work.
