I Found My First Silver - Coin Community Forum

mkfarm Pillar of the Community United States 667 Posts	Posted 07/31/2011 10:07 pm It took some time but today I did find my first silver. They were two Roosevelt dimes. One was a 1960 and the other a 1964. I was looking at an old photo of the farm and saw where the old cloths line was. So I had a 1/2 hour this evening and started the work the area. Bingo I hit silver. We have lived here for 11 years and the place has really changed since the mid 1800's. I was finding a ton of old cut nails, broken farm machinery and just tons a small scrap iron/steel. I'm not rich but I will take today's find. I certainly have a lot of time to go over these 150 acres. Prior to this my oldest find was a 1960 Penny plus a lot a copper pennies and clad coins. Report this Post to the Staff

Try learning your detector so you can figure out what is junk and what is something you want to dig up.
