Hi, I'm going to clear out my silver dollars i have 22 morgans and 7 peace and 1o ASE.. im probably going to let them go for melt..only cause I need the money like tomorrow..im thinking around what $30 to $35 each? what do you think? there are 3 more morgans and 1 more ASE than in pics..    |

Don't expect ANYONE (business wise) to pay more than 25X face value. The only way you will get more is if you craiglist them. I check my craiglist multiple times a day for people selling morgans/peace/seated/etc and no one gives more than 25X. I've been to every pawn shop in my area and the most I was offered was 20X and I got 25X from my brother long time friend who has a jewelry store in our mall. The only reason he gave me that much was because he didn't write it up. I've heard that Gold and Diamond source pays 10% less than spot but haven't verified it myself. Everyone is in it for a profit. If you go on ebay you will get the most. I got $80 for $2.50 worth before I had to pull my listing (had a good reason)and that's 32X face but also have to figure ebay fees/shipping. People will pay a premium on ebay but most buying on craigslist will buy to resell wherever they can unless you run into a collector. If I lived by you I'd gladly pay 35 a piece for ones in VF/AU (morgans) Edited by Dejan

I just sold 10 Peace $'s on ebay for $326.40. So that is over 32X face. BUT the fee's will cost me 9%, so I am only clearing a little less than 30X |

You should get no less than $40.00 for the silver eagles and the melt value of the Morgan and Peace dollars is just over $32.00 each and you should not accept anything less than $28.00 each for those in average circulated condition. The Morgans in XF/AU you should get minimum $30.00 each. Anyone paying just 25X face for silver dollars is lowballing, they should be paying at least 28X. Ed ANA LM-3175 |

I buy and sell silver coins like this all the time. I wouldn't flinch at paying $30 per Morgan and melt for eagles

You can get people to easily pay 32+ on morgans and peace. The silver eagles easily go for 44+

Biochemist, simply an example from someone who has gone through the process already. Like I said, ebay will fetch you more but you will lose out on fees (like Jay noted as well) I have yet to run into a business paying 30X but people who don't know much about metals and are looking to get into them will pay a lot on craigslist. |

I sold to a shop for 29x face on saturday. I usually pay $1 under for ASE and 90% of melt for 90%, a littel more for dollars. I sell on Craigslist alot and get melt or close to it, no fees. Another 205 posts and you can sell here. |

got alot of hits on graigs list..one offered me $1400.. for all.not bad comes out to $36.00 each..not holding my breath with him..hasnt called back..have another offer of 1300.00 still have one more to call..if he offers inbetween the other two I think I will sell to him..i know it sucks to have to get 250 post to sell, but what can you do..LOL most of the coins are really nice and would hate to see them melted..at least on here theres a good chance of being collected not melted..
