Tell me what you think, good or bad, grade or no grade, like or not like, etc. The obv and rev photos do not show the true reflectiveness of the coin. The detail photos do represent the reflectiveness it actually has.

Can't tell about any PL or DMPL qualities, but I see evidence of slight friction in the fields which suggests this is not a mint state coin. I like the close-up photos but don't see any significant doubling. The last photo especially shows an intense shine that looks like the result of polishing.

I presume with the "very close date" information you have determined the VAM. Is this a scarce variety? If not then I'd say you have a high AU example of a common-date Morgan dollar. It also may have suffered from cleaning or even polishing which would produce a "no grade" result if it were submitted to a TPG.

I does seem like there might be some light wear on the coin but this coin might be unc and the wear that I am seeing might just be in the pics.

Its the first time I looked at it since buying it, and it was one of the 1st Morgans for me, before I knew about polishing/cleaning.

Its definately been dipped or something but still AU/Unc. Its a VAM 11, common.

Thanks for the honest feedback. I'll have to replace it.

From the pics my guess is AU58 or MS62. It may have just been a hard life in the bag.

Here's a better look at what they did to this beautiful lady. What a shame.

Heck, I might just have to give it away. But then again, it is 90%.
