why does this 1933 cent have a circle mark above the crown on one side only and dot after the C IN Canada and between N-A

Are you sure its just not a stain that appeared over time?

coolcoin ian quite sure its not a stain .the imprint over crown is stamped in the coin and dots are raised

dots after C in Canada could be due to Die Deterioration; altough, it's hard to see from the picture

-these characteristics certainly will not add to the value of the coin though. It's not like finding a 1936 dot penny, unfortunately...:)

Looks to be corrosion to me but its hard to tell from the pictures

after taking another closer look I believe your right the cause of the ring over crown was caused by a stain ..no expert here just a beginner lol thanks

by the way I do have 3 1936 pennys one has a dentation below the date iam not sure if it was drilled in the coin ,,and one hasa green spots below the date just about were the dot should be the other is covered in green .

Could you zoom in a bit more to the dot on the first coin.

Is it possible that a spot welder made these marks? That would explain the mark on the obverse and reverse as well as any small splatter dots from melting metal/copper.
Just a thought.
