DNA quote: One of our local coin shops put up a sign, "Buying 25th Anniversary ASE Sets" (yes, even for sets out of the shipping box, I asked) So...how much were they offering for the ASE 25th Anniversary Set? That may be a way to avoid the ebay fees. I was lurking last night and the postings are popping up like weeds! Going for at least $600+ with short, quick turn auctions.

Mine shipped but the tracking number is not yet active. I will be at work so I will have to schedule a redelivery but that is fine happy to get the sets. I just wish I knew if I should leave them sealed and grade them?

I agree with previous post(s); there are going to numerous MS/PF 69 & 70's that it is going to dilute the system, which is going to bring the price/value down. Although the two keys are what is going to keep the price/value up. So the low counterbalances the high?

I just wish I knew if I should leave them sealed and grade them? That IS a major decision. I will have mine graded and hope I will get a 70 set out of my box of 5. THAT will be the home run. I will add that if I had five single set unopened boxes I would save one or two to see where those go but my orders were all five sets boxes (3)and I think the risk involved in selling someone that much sight unseen is just asking for trouble.... ...and, as a collector and seller I just don't get warm and fuzzy staring at a cardboard box

I'm still a little confused about this whole grading thing...
If you send the unopened box to NGC or PCGS, you will get back a whole bunch of individually slabbed coins, each with a special "25th Anniversary Set" label, right? But they won't still be packaged together as a set.
If, however, you open the box and submit the coins individually, you will still be able to get all five graded and labeled with a special "25th Anniversary" label, right? The only difference will be the omission of the word "Set" on the label.
Since two of the coins are unique to the set, I can't see it matters which label they have as long as they are graded - -it's obvious they are part of the set regardless of what label they have. As for the other 3 coins, do we all think that having them labeled as part of the "set" will really add much value to them compared to having the standard "25th Anniversary" label?
I dunno. I suppose I could have tried ordering five separate sets, but the site was so slow I didn't want to risk not getting all the orders placed. And I have no desire whatsoever to glory in an unopened cardboard box. For that matter, I have no desire to have all the coins from all five sets slabbed, since I really do like the way they are presented in the blue hardwood box.
I'm definitely going to open the box so I can bask in the unadulterated glory of the packaged sets. I might even take one of the reverse proofs out of its capsule and rub it all over my body, but that's probably more information that you guys need to know... Anyway, at some point I might decide to send in one set for grading if I can first determine which set is most likely to grade at MS70. The rest will stay in their little plastic capsules in their blue hardwood boxes until I pass them down to my son, after which he can do with them whatever he wants.

Sound like it will be a exciting day for some members .... It is nice to know they are gettting them delivered.
As for some members .. someone said they had to verify shipping address by the letter. My friend got the same letter, and just called the mint to verify address.
My status like some is "in process" I ordered about 4:20. I did have the problem where the Credit card was rejected (did not know I had a $1000.00 limit). I called and added another card, the mint has charged my account, so hoping things will be okay with my order.
It sure will be nice to have my box in hand

tartop, you may have someone else's order. It happens, not sure what weighs 15+ pounds as fars as numismatic items goes, or that could be one heck of a packing material job!
Be sure to keep us updated!

I just checked the UPS tracking page to see if there was an update on the delivery time. And it said it was...
DELIVERED!
I'm down in the basement in my home office and didn't hear the doorbell, but apparently my mother-in-law was able to sign for it (my in-laws live with us). I took the steps three at a time and almost gave myself a hernia lugging the box back downstairs. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a box to open...

OK, I feel like a bit of an idiot here. These sets are truly amazingly fantastic. I am weeping with joy at the sight of them. However, I honestly didn't realize just how big each set is. As I said before, I definitely want to keep them in their original blue hardwood boxes (inside the blue cardboard box inside the blue cardboard slipcover). I mean, the packaging is just really, really, beautiful. But I now realize I have no room in my safe to store them!
Yeah, yeah -- it's an embarrassment of riches and everybody wishes they had my problem and what about the people who didn't get any sets at all and why don't I just sell some of them if I'm that concerned, I get it, I get it. But I think I may need to go out and buy a new safe just to hold these...

Just got mine, damaged of course. I should have ordered five so I could assemble one complete set and send back the damaged crap.
