Scarp, my order # is 38380xxx and my order still says in process. My confirmation email from the mint said my order was at 4:17 pm but I dont exactly remember if that is correct because it seems other people who got through at around that time already received their sets. All I know is my fingernails may not survive the weekend. Hopefully you will receive your sets sometime before Thanksgiving

CoinWorld said that the director of the US mint said that by 5:00 orders represented 100,709 sets and 27,254 orders with an average of 3.7 sets per order and of that total 22,413 orders were online orders which is probably why the site was sluggish

That's interesting... Now that the mint is going to have this new system in the near future, I wonder if the'll do more research before setting product limits. But when you think about it, those that can will, Theirs still going to be customers with multiple addresses ordering over the product limits using friends, family, etc... I think this set should start dying down in 5 maybe 6 years lol JK JK
I love to see some pics of anyone whos just getting their coins, the way I figure it you probably have the best shot at First Strikes, Or do they stagger stack when building inventory, Either way wouldn't you still have the coins arriving at 1 of the mints to be packaged, changing it back to first strikes on top.... It be interesting to find out what the procedure is. Here's to beating a dead horse :-)

As I mentioned earlier I informed a few friends about this anniversary set up for sale, I just DID NOT call my order in till after I called them, I also helped this one friend send off the 5 opened sets to ANACS as this is how they wanted the sets sent in, no original packaging at all, which gave us the chance to see and hold the coins in their plastic holders. I was and still am amazed at the size of these sets and to my amazement my friend GAVE me a set I picked out from the 5 he received, I am still elated over his kindness, I picked a wonderfully crisp struck set, well done by the mint, simply beautifully executed, I love the look, and beauty of it all..... I am sorry all those who sent their sets off for grading DID NOT see their sets, in their original sweet you S Mint packaged cases.......

About to open my box of 4 sets, after much debate whether to slab or not....going to cherry the best to keep, and sell the leftovers...THIS will be funnnnnnnnnnnn...pics later...if you want some...OH..I went to the Santa Clara Coin Show, to see if nibbles on selling the box of 4....saw a few others with their boxes of 5's, and, overheard a LOT of wheeling and dealing....Bottom line? Dealers NOT interested in all at buying, period, except at low prices, and, lots of grumbling how these will drop soon...I sensed a lot of bitterness hidden underneath the statements, ie:, I missed the deals, and, it's too late to join in...just my thinking... PCGS Booth was filled with eagle set submitters, and, had to close early yesterday, due to "full vault"...guy today with his 10 boxes worth(YES), was the last guy able to walk in, and have his taken away by the guy working the counter, as, the vault was full again..I decided against waiting 6+ weeks for coins to come home... back to my plan J...keep a set for me, sell the other 3 to my coin club buddies at a decent, fair price, or trade at next meeting 12/14... I sold my 5 sets unopened at the Baltimore Whitman Show today. The sets are beautiful, but I could not pass up the money. Also, there are coins I want more. I got $775 per set.

I sent two of my sets to NGC and opened one. I showed the open one to my dad and he was just speechless. He has been in the hospital since Oct 1 except for 5 days and I have been there for all of them except for two. He was the one that got me into collecting so I am going to give him an unopened mint box for him to enjoy. I'll still have one unopened box. All in all the last month and a half has sucked...

amassey08873, your theory about first strikes has several problems. First and foremost is that many die sets were used to produce 100,000 coins and each of the coins in the set had a different average coin yield for each die pair. That fact alone shuffles the early/late die states of coins in sets. Add to that the fact that three of the coins were minted outside SF and were shipped there and the fact that almost certainly the WP coins (proof and uncirculated) were pulled from stock in no particular order. The same is probably also true of the bullion coin, most likely pulled from stock at SF. The two unique coins were likely struck on more than one press each and the output mixed and die changed at different times. Then ship the RP from Philly, assemble the sets with a gang of workers, all running at different paces and pulling coins from the "pile" then packing them for shipment(s) to Indiana. Then toss in PBGS pulling and packing and you have a complete jumble of coins. If there ever was any order to any one of the coins early on, it was long since lost. Early, mid, and late die state coins have been in sets from beginning to end and final shipping order only helps further randomize things.

I got mine last week. I still have them in the box. How important do you guys think it is to have them graded with the early release? Does it it effect future value? Or does it matter? I'm waiting for submission forms from ngc and want to get them in soon before their cutoff.
Thank you to everyone for te previous posts. This conversation has helped a lot for me s a novice coin collector.

I would like to know if people who get them graded would be willing to post what percentage of the coins come back with 69 and 70 ratings. This would be an interesting piece of data to help verify/debunk what my I have been told by a couple dealers that the private individual can expect a 30-35% return of these grades.
This would also help some collectors be armed with another piece of data to help decision making in the future.

Clair Thats well thought out , thank you. I've been thinking about how easy it was to remove that shipping label off the sealed 25th Anv Set. Wanting to see if it were possible to actually pull off that test, I used a sealed National Park Quarters Box. This was with minimum effort. With out the use of steam or iron, I did use a lighter to warm up parts, melting the back end beginning. The tape slipped out of my hand right onto the flame. lol So with a little more effort I think its very possible to document your coins you send to TPG without them knowing. Remember this was done on National Park Quarters not Sealed 25th Anv set. Disclaimer! I don't recommend anyone doing this! Unless you tell me about it JK JK Next up, The truth behind all these ebay Sellers re rolling unsearched rolls.

A hair dryer can be used to remove most labels and tape this way.
