When going through some old coins my grandfather left me I came across this one. Any ideas as to how old it is, where it's from, what it's value is? Thanks

This one is from china, but I leave it to others - I cannot read the year on it :)
Beware, this coin is highly counterfeit.
Oh, and it this is from you, take care when handling coins - you have finger marks on the second picture :) (wear gloves or at least handle the coin from its edge)

It's a 10 cash from Hunan Province in China (though that wasn't too hard to work out) Minted between 1902 and 1906. I think it's Y112.10 - but there are many many varieties of these. Only worth a dollar or so - and although I've been collecting Chinese coins for 20 years I've never come across a fake one of these. Silver coins - yes - they are heavily faked - but not so the bronze ones of this era I think.

It should be alright - most copper coins are not worth counterfeiting. But of course, there are some comtemporary counterfeits that circulated and that has its own history as well.
