It always seems the people that don't do coins get lucky (not in your example) --my friend at work walking down the street finds an ASE just sitting in the road!

I've noticed that also Coinstar. Friend of mine worked a vending machine route. He showed me a Seated Liberty quarter he'd found in the machine and traded out for a quarter from his pocket. It wasn't in bad shape.

Then he tells me, he thought they looked cool so he saved one. Come to find out he'd been finding Seated Libs for a while at this one location, but only saved the one because he didn't have any more interest than keeping the one.

Probably some kid slowly spending away grandpa's collection in a vending machine.

I think FA-2, but I'd go AG-3, before I dolled out a PO grade.

I agree the Obverse is close to an AG3 but the Reverse looks definitely PO1 to me, so the overall grade is FR2 for me.

And

an AWESOME find!

And the date looks good to me (i.e., not weird).

(My 1885 for date comparison):

FR-2, the reverse rim has a lower relief than the obverse rim so you will frequently see split grades at the lower levels. Awesome lot find
