I don't think I would have seen it if I wasn't told. It is obvious now, even when I look at the sellers pictures. It will be completely evident when you get it if it actually has the miint mark or if it is just our imaginations. Good luck!

Suppose for just a minute that I'm right ... and there's a "S" mint mark there. ... and it does appear to be smaller than the others. I even spent awhile looking at 08-S reverses to see if there was a smaller "S" on any of those. I've not found one. I don't have an 09-S Lincoln Cent, but I wonder how that stamp and the one that created this mark compare? If this thing is marked as it appears to be ... it's got to be either a new and previously unknown reverse die ... a "micro-S" variety, which seems unlikely 102 years into the game .... or counterfeit. Curiouser and curiouser. I guess we'll know soon enough. Chance

I see the "S". The bottom half looks kind of like a "D", and the top half is covered in verdigris. Good eyes! I love taking gambles like this too! 13 bucks isn't a huge wager either when the payout could be well over 30 to 1. Nice pick-up.

I see it plain and clear. Of course, I'm used to spotting nearly hidden details on messed up coins...

I can see an S there - even w/out enlarging it jumped right out at me (but I have done a lot of detailed computer graphics work for years).
I agree that it is either a third variety or (hope not!) counterfeit.

It looks like an S is there, especially when enlarged. However, I would be concerned that this S is farther left than the others. It might be wishful thinking on this one. No one would remove a mint mark. Send it in to get slabbed and see what happens. Not much to lose here.

I was thinking more along the lines of sending it to Rick Snow. The TPGs would just body bag it. If I have it in hand and am still convinced that it's there and always has been, then I think a noted authority should take a peek at it. If it's not there, then this will have been a great excercise in the power of suggestion, ultimately leading to group hallucination. Chance

I didn't save an unedited enlargement of just the mintmark area of the Chino Hills coin. Just for fun ... see if you can take the reverse image from this listing and lighten it up and see what I saw. I bought this one the same day. It's on its way from Nova Scotia. http://www.ebay.com/itm/37039720609....m1439.l2649Chance

After looking at this latest picture without the enhancements, I don't think there is really an S there. We all would like it to be there but I think it is really wishful thinking.
