Poll Question
Sadly, everything must end and we must say goodbye to the absolutely wonderful thread of all the gorgeous Walking Liberty half dollars all the CCF members posted during the "25 Days of Walking Liberty half dollars". But we move on... BUT to what? We could revisit some coin types we've done before: (Recap posted of Previous "Days of...") Capped Bust half dollars Morgan dollars Seated Liberty coinage (Half Dimes, Dimes, Quarters, Half Dollars & Dollars) Old Copper (Half & Large Cents) Standing Liberty quarters Indian Head centsUS Type (Dansco 7070) OR...move on to some other Classic US Coin Type. And, if something new... WHAT? Let me know! These are all options: Half Cents, Large Cents, Flying Eagle cents, Indian cents, Two Cents, Three Cents, Half Dimes, Shield nickels, Liberty V nickels, Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, Twenty Cents, Standing Liberty quarters, Walking Liberty half dollars, Trade dollars, Morgan dollars, Peace dollars, Flowing Hair Coinage, Draped & Capped Bust Coins, Seated Liberty coinage, Barber coinage, Gold Coins

How about starting off with Half Cents and working our way up the denominational chain (half cents, large cents, FE, Indians, LWC, LMC, Two Cent, Three Cent, etc...)? Advance to the next denomination on a weekly basis?

I was gonna say Mercs, so that I could participate in volume, but I want to get more before we do that. I would love to see some of those tiny, weirdo 3-cents though!

The 7070 thread will be hard to beat. All those different coins everyday was the best. The rest get boring for me. After the first couple of days they all look the same and I lose interest. So I choose Flying Eagle cents just because it is a short run and maybe will hold my interest.

I voted Mercury dimes only because it's the set I'm working to complete now. However, I will enjoy all the beautiful pics regardless of which one wins.

I hope it is ok to make a different suggestion. I have been thinking something like Top 10 or 15 Modern coins in your collection Top 10 or 15 Clasic coins in your collection Top 10 or 15 Commemorative coins in your collection
Got me thinking we would really see some nice coins on the number one day

I voted for Peace dollars, but my second choice would have been Mercury dimes. On a side note: I have thought many times this week that we should do the odd-ball coins in one thread: Half Cent, 2 Cent, silver 3 Cent, nickel 3 cent, Half Dime, & 20 Cent. did my post before I read this great reply Quote:posted by oih82w8How about starting off with Half Cents and working our way up the denominational chain (half cents, large cents, FE, Indians, LWC, LMC, Two Cent, Three Cent, etc...)? I like Goldrushs idea on commemorative coins. Every coin is different. That would hold my intertest.

We could continue with the half dollar theme and run a set of Franklin halves.

I like all of these suggestions! A few "Moe" comments: I've tried doing a "Post all your Half Cents" type thread and it rapidly gets chaotic, many people don't get a chance to post, there's too much to appreciate at one sitting and the thread's over too fast. So I have evolved the Coin Posting into a much more spread-out "Days of..." thread so folks can focus on a particular year each day versus over-loading everyone in a short period of time. And I agree posting coins of a similar design, differing only slightly, for days on end is a little boring. (That's what made the US Type/7070 such a good thread!) BUT, we still want to continue to see other US coin types and this is the only way to do that. And I like seeing all grades of each coin type. (I'm just as interested in a P-01 coin as I am in an MS-67!) I don't feel qualified to do a Commemoratives thread since I don't have very many of these and I feel the Thread Commander should be knowledgeable about the coin type and lead the posting. (Someone else may wish to do this type later). I do like the idea of a "Odds and Ends" thread encompassing all the few-year coin types. I'll have to explore this idea a bit more. Please post your recommendations for this type of thread.Right now our next thread (which should start next Monday, the 10th of October) remains up in the air but the " Mercury dime" and the "Odds and Ends" seem to be the front runners! Continue to voice your opinions! This type of thread makes me VERY happy and I want to continue it!
