Hi could any of you give me a prediction as to the possible outcome of the Mints NEW $300 Gold Coin with diamond.
Do you think its over priced as it is?
Do you think its value will skyrocket?
It is a nice looking coin.
Personally, I think all mint gold coins are way over priced. As nice as the coin is I dont think I would purchase it.

Novelty is certainly a big plus for this coin.

However.

Gold has dropped substantially and is where it was back in July. Hard to predict where it will go from here. Some have linked the price of gold with the US debt. Since Obama has an aggressive plan to reduce the deficit we can expect gold to fall, I guess.

NCLT rarely command a premium beyond intrinsic value. But there are exceptions.

Then, there is the diamond.

That particular diamond can be purchased for about $90 to $150 from wholesale, or even less than $20 on ebay. On a side note, I once inherited a $28,000-appraised 2 Ct certified diamond ring from my mother. The best *ANY* jewelry would give me was $1,500. I ended up selling on ebay for $2,200. That's less than 10% it's value.

Even NCLTs aren't that bad. Stay away from diamonds, I say.

It is a really nice looking coin though and as for increasing in value at first it will as a bunch of people will buy on spec.....it will drop though if not enough people want it on the secondary market...
