A bank near my house claims to be able to order rolls of ATB Quarters so I've been getting a roll of the D mint a couple of weeks after they're released. Makes it nice to get them at face!

I would say my prise bank find was a 1863 s Seated half dollar, heavily worn and also accompanied by several other 90% halves.

5 nickel rolls yesterday yielded me a 1955-s, and a 44-P War Nickel. First War Nickel in very sporadic nickel roll hunting.

My success for cool stuff at the bank has been moderately ok. I don't really get there very often but we'll say once a month, usually to dump the previous month's CRS castoff. Then I of course ask for another box or 3 of coins and "anything interesting" in their drawer. I usually get a few halves and a couple Presidential dollars. But recently I've gotten quite a few SBAs and Ikes. I believe I've gotten about 5 40% Kennedys from the teller drawer too. Overall, pretty pleased. Most times, the tellers seem to be happy to get rid of the anomalies. :)

Got 7 rolls of quarters from the bank today. Lady told me someone brought in old rolls for cash. The oldest quarter in all 7 rolls was 2003. Alot of them are in REALLY good condition. One virginia looked like it was an america the beautiful atfirst I thought, to those that hunt rolls. Really cool overall

Going through 200 Nickels today, find a 1938 nickel and a 1942 non-silver nickel. After looking at 1000 pennies, only two common date wheats 1939 and 1953. It is not very fruitful.

Had major hit on wheats 2weeks ago. 275 wheats from box of pennies. Brinks box. Mostly common but some teens, 20s and 30s as well. Most of the rest were pre 82 and loaded w au/bu pennies. Great haul - for pennies.
One of my best was buying 12 Ike's and ended up w peace & 85 Morgan.
Also hit 8 solid rolls 40% Kennedy's once. Roll of walkers/franklins a different time. 2 years ago used to find silver all the time

Ok. I'm new to this all. I'm intrugued by this whole role hunting. So do you go into the bank and just ask for X rolls of X? Do preface it with "Do you have any old rolls that have been sitting around at the bottom of the safe?" Or do you just get know after a while and they begin to know what you're after? Very interesting...

NOO!! I just typed so much and closed the tab! Dang it! Let me re-type it :(
My best find: 1987 proof quarter.
Here's a true story that I wish was me the buyer...
One day my uncle went to the bank to cash his check inside... so this man in front of him was asking for rolls of dollars. The lady handed him a roll, he opens it, it was all silver dollars! He ended up getting 50 silver dollars ( two roll) because that's all they had. She said the person who was there that morning handed them in. ( must of picked the wrong ones). My uncle was not able to get any. But he don't collect coins so he didn't care.

I recently found a 1995-S Proof quarter in a quarter roll mixed with common circulated. It has a few circulation scratches but not real bad. Makes one wonder how a proof coin gets into circulation.

I found a jersey clad proof in a bank roll once. Still have it cause its cool. But to answer the question of what us coin roll hunters do,... I just go to the bank and bring in say 8 rolls of previously searched coins, and ask to exchange them for 8 more rolls from the fed. If I had 500 dollars, I would ask them for a box of 50 quarter rolls to search. When done, just roll them back up, bring them back to bank, and ask for another box. At first you may feel funny about doing it, but who cares really?
