I looked back and completed all my goals (and then some). 1928 peace $, both $1 gold types, three early commemorate halves, and maintaining my modern silver from the mint.

Was trying for new source to replace my BoA FED RES 1,000 bank BAGs of IKEs. No luck here. Trying to continue cultivating good relations with my Credit Union manager and her 6-7 other branches. She wants to meet my wife over dinner, when we can get the schedules together. It will be my treat Hoping and wishing the Holidays will shake loose some IKEs I have faith she will come through soon. Guessing about 50-75 on the next shot to me. Have 452 from her to date.

ADDENDUM Hoping I can buy some cull silver dollars from a fellow person. Not real sure how many Peace and Morgans are involved. About 65-75? Willing to pay SPOT AG plus a little more, because I personally do NOT believe they are going up ( SOON). In general figure the Morgans are worth about $2 more than the Peace dollarsHard part about it is, the party of the second part does NOT need the cash

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life. It really does not surprise me that I didn't complete my goal at all. I had hoped to purchase 3 out of the 5 Morgans I needed. I have hardly thought about Morgans this year. I developed a bad case of Capped Bust quarter fever and these took most of my money this year.

Quote: I also hope to have more patience in 2015 by making fewer purchases so that I can get a handful of higher quality coins and notes. I'll have to overcome the hoarder in me. Well looking back I didn't fill as many holes in my type set as I would have liked but I did fill a few of the tough ones with nice coins. I was able to get fewer but better quality coins although I did pick up a few cheaper side collections along the way (civil war tokens, etc.).

Quote: Just curious how everyone did this year (2015)
I was able to succeed in my quest: completing my Washington quarter set. However........ ....In the process of finishing up that set, I acquired some PROOF Washington's' and made a mid-year decision to get all of them, too! Well, in six months I've been able to buy every proof quarter from 1937 to current; which leaves me just one more to go (1936). There is probably no way I can get that last one by the end of this year, so I'll just put it on my 2016 want-list. This year I also started (and completed) my Canadian Large Cent set, and also completed both my Roosevelt and Mercury dime sets. Aside from the 36' proof Washington, the only other US coins I need are two Lincoln cents and two Buffalo nickels. ON the Canadian side of my collection, I need six small cents (all recent issues), 18 nickels, 47 dimes, 24 quarters, 3 halves, 16 dollars, and 8 twonies. The last three types are just for clad issues, the rest are for the complete (1858-current) sets.

I am going to try and plug in the 1916 LSQ in at least VF condition in 2016. I have all the rest. I would say to all collectors not to choose sets that are this hard to complete in you want a mint, date, condition set. Start with something easier like Peace dollars or maybe even Mercury dimes or Buffalo nickels. The sets that have one coin that has a value 15-20 times as much as the rest of the same coins is going to stymie you for a long time. There are a lot of sets like that such as Indian Head Half Eagle where one coin is selling for $15,000 for a coin in VF condition. This just kills it for you in you want to actually complete the set and are not a millionaire.

It had been almost a year already! I fill little to my type set, added fewer interesting dimes, and attended less shows.

Quote:Add Presidential dollar & ATB Quarters Dansco albums to my collection to replace the three ring binders, CRH for my Kennedy halves album, possibly add/upgrade a few coins in my 7070, and of course buy the 2015 Wedge Tailed Eagles whenever they come out! Well looking back at my goals for this year it looks like I did pretty well! I have not yet gotten the Pres. Dollar dansco yet, but ATB and State Quarters are complete/up to date, my Kennedy album with CRH is up to date for 2015 except for the 1970D, WTE's acquired proof and bullion, and was able to acquire I think 9 coins for my 7070 (trade dollar, 2 Seated halves, matron large cent, 2 Shield nickels, Capped Bust quarter, Seated half dime, Seated dime)! Above and beyond my goals was acquiring a Japan type album and already having 17 coins in it! Been a busy year and looking forward to the 2016 goals to see how I do next year!

I did ok, I completed my photography set up and did fill some Dansco album holes, but created many new holes when buying more Dansco albums. Oh, and I did pick up a few Morgan dollars by the VAM number..

Here were my goals for 2015: Work on my Uncirculated Silver Washington quarters (already have all 1950 - 1964, plus a 1941 and 1942) Start upgrading my circulated set of silver Roosies Continue filling in my moderns (1968 - current) with the best uncirculated and proof I can afford Finish my 1965 PCGS graded SMS set (just need an MS66 or better cent) Find the darn Indian Head cent and Liberty nickel albums that got lost in the house somewhere!! How did I do? Well, added a bunch of the Washingtons, now complete from 1945 with all phillies except 1938 and a few mm issues from the early 40's. Added just a few upgraded Roosies. Finished my PCGS 1965 SMS set with a MS66+ RD. Haven't found the missing albums, but I think they are in the basement somewhere.
