Not worth slabbing. With the fees and shipping and insurance both ways you will have as much if not more in each coin than what it will be worth.

That's the thing though, our club is shipping a bunch of coins off next month to be graded and we're all splitting the shipping and insurance. Not to mention the president of our clubs is a rep for one of the big 4 and we're getting a great deal. Put it this way....after slabbing these two I'll have paid almost exactly what they're worth in silver. And the other reason I'm considering it is because I'm slabbing about 30 Morgan's at the same time. So why not throw these in? See where I'm coming from?

Did the seller have them in those folders? Looks like somewhere down the line the seller or someone was into coins. Did you ask if there were more available? I would have.

Super find! Nice coins. I always feem kinda bad when I get a great steal. Like when I got 2 morgans for $12 last year. But then I just look at the.coins and I'm all ok inside.
And yeah the seller should know better.

HaroldS, the seller said he was into coins 10-15 yrs ago and I don't think he ever changed his price on the 2x2. He did have some other stuff, nothing that exciting though. All in all I picked up 25 coins from him.

Don't feel bad. I'm sure the seller was happy that he sold something and you were happy that you got a great deal. What else did you get in the other coins?
I would send these 2 to get slabbed if you're already planning on getting all of the morgans slabbed too. Great find.

The other coins were four Kennedy half proofs, 1966-1973 dates. A 1971-S and 1985-S Proof Roosevelt dime. A 1907 Barber dime. Some foreign currency including two 1939 Nazi Germany coins, and a few more odds and ends. I was happy :)

Gives me some hope for the numerous yard and garage sales conducted in New England all the time! Nice find! So what did you pay?

For these, $5. I then went through the rest of his coins and picked up some more. Nothing like these though

Not a garage sale, but got an Indian Head cent out of the CVS self-checkout last week. Beat to the Bejeezus with an indecipherable date. Gave it to the the clerk I know and said "This is old, save it." She liked it.
