I just got a box of Kennedy half rolls in the mail! Anyone else get theirs yet? I was afraid they were going to 'bump' my order like they have so many times before on last minute attempts to buy. |

You know now that I think of it.. Didnt the mint start minting sac's last year thinking they were gonna be released into circulation? I remember hearing something like that... B/c I remember also the sacs stopped production when they found out they were not going into circulation.. and the 08 sacs were not released until march or april b/c of this.. Maybe thats why the mintage numbers are high but it still dont explain them being sold out early.. Anyone else remember this?

As I mentioned in another thread, the 2009 Native American dollars that happened to be minted in December '08 got mixed in with the 2008 Sac production figures in error. Thus the info on the Mint's page is false. What they should have done is create an entirely separate column for the Native American dollars produced in '08. I do hope they fix it soon. |

So .......in short.....the 08' Sac's ARE a low mintage number then ?  And I got my '08 Kennedy half order and my Sac order in early enough last year.......  ......just wonder if that's good enough or if I should have ordered MORE ! Here's my order from my "order history" from the Mint....  2008 SACAGAWEA GD 25-CN ROLL P -2- $35.95 $71.90 -2- units shipped on 06/09/2008 2008 SACAGAWEA GD 25-CN ROLL D -2- $35.95 $71.90 -2- units shipped on 06/09/2008 2008 KENNEDY HD TWO-ROLL P&D -1- $32.95 $32.95 -1- unit shipped on 06/09/2008 Maybe I should try to order a few more Kennedy's ? Of course, thankfully, I do have all of these aforementioned coins in Proof Sets, Silver Proof Sets, Uncirculated Mint Sets, and the 2008 U.S. Mint Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets >>>(the six coin dollar set with an ASE in the center---this set has a "Sac" too)..... Glad I ordered 3 sets, they are now completely sold out of 2008 and all you can order is the 2009's. The value of our investment just went up! Actually....no. looks like we may have had the discovery about the same time I had just looked at them this weekend to see if they were still available. I haven't made up my mind if I want to order a few more sets or not. And I know you can't trust the mint's main pages to see what they still have available. |
