Don't be discouraged Pastor. If I exclude those four rolls of silver I got on that one trip, my average is at 3.9 CPB. Not much different.
In the 12 boxes I have done, the only consistent theme is "inconsistency". I have had some zeroes, and one 16. If you hit that 16 box tomorrow your average will jump a whole point!

well, the last time I visited this forum I was one of the only people searching rolls...now it seems the number has increased many times over! I feel so left out, I should start searching again...time to call the bank!

none more weird than mine...i only search boxes b/c I'm only a member of one Bank, and my first five boxes gave me about 100 silvers...NADA with the next 15 or so boxes, and the box at my house hasn't produced anything yet either :( I gave up on getting boxes every week b/c obviously something is different. Oh well, 100 is better than nothing.

I took about 3 weeks off while we moved to a new house (and we're still not done!) I decided it was time to get some rolls again.
Picked up a box of pennies and $100 in dimes. (They didn't have any boxes of nickels today). Good thing, as I picked out 2 silver dimes from the first roll. 1962 and then a 1951. Needless to say, the rest of the dimes were a letdown. :(
Through $5 worth of pennies and so far a couple of wheats and a George VI, oldest being a 1940 wheat. I'll finish the other $20 in pennies before the weekend is over.

Two boxes again this week, and again they could not be more different. The first box had 49 blank rolls. The last roll in the box yielded a Franklin. That boosted my spirits a little because I thought I was getting skunked again! The second box was excellent... 2 proofs, 3 Walkers, 2 Franklins, 3 40% and 14 90% Kennedys. WOW! The Walkers were all very nice VF-EF coins. I was very surprised.
Since June 2007 halves searched = $7470 Walkers = 20 Franklins = 28 90% Kennedy = 25 40% Kennedy = 56 Proof = 12 (72, 76, 81x2, 82, 85, 87, 91, 95, 02x2, 04) Commemorative = 1

Couple of firsts this week - found an 87-D, an aluminum token from Vegas, and my very 1st commemorative - a 93' clad WW2 half - it is really cool looking. Also got 8 40%, 1 ben, and 3 2002+ NIFC's. Good times for only 2 boxes (1st had all the silver, token, and 87 + 2 NIFC's, 2nd had comemm and NIFC). Till next time...

Not Issues For Circulation - also called NCLT (Non-Circulating Legal Tender)

Would that be commemoratives?

Since 2002 the US Mint still issues Business Strike half dollars, true Kennedy half dollars no different than the previouos 30 years. BUT, and here is the distinction, they no longer release them for general circulation. They are now only available by rolls or bags in special orders, and they have cut the mintage from 20+ million to about 2 million. If you find a 2002+ half, it is one that found its way into circulation via a more circuitous route than your typical half from previous years.

Found a bunch on a little road trip today. I found 38 40%, 2 64's, 7 NIFC, 1 73 Proof, and... a beautiful uncirculated 76-s silver bicentennial - my first! At least the finds paid for gas today, lol. All in a little over a 1000 searched. Updated my totals, too.

It's been pretty slow around here lately. I think I'm getting stuff that has been searched--I see alot of halves with the same black markings on them. Todays $1000 produced 2 - 40%, one Walker and two rolls had a quarter in them. At first I was bummed but after I counted both rolls contained $10.25. How does that happen?

Well, today I picked up the last box that my bank had ordered me, and it was not a disappointment. I got 8 40%, 3 NIFC, and 1 upgrade for my whitman, as well as another Gold Plated coin. Now all I have to do is get a box full of GP'd ones, and melt the gold off of em somehow...hmmmm
