My goals for 2013: Finish 1968 to date Proof sets (only need 1970S with small date penny) Finish 1959 to date Mint Sets (only need 5 more, and 3 of them are on my Christmas List!). I need a few slabbed coins to fill in a few holes, but nothing is very expensive except for the 72 Type II Ike. Finish 7070 (non-gold). I'm down to 10 holes and 3 coins are on my Christmas List! The Seated Liberty dollars and the 20 cent piece will probably be the biggest challenges to find for a good price. I just snagged all 3 Seated Liberty half dollars yesterday for only $74.05 and $4.49 total shipping (from two different sellers). I also got one of the Capped Bust halves for only $34.13 and $3 shipping. It takes a lot of patience, a lot of bidding, and a lot of losing, but eventually I find a deal at wholesale. Fill 2 holes in Lincoln Wheats (leaving only 2 to go) Keep working on "exceptions" album. I'm trying to get examples of common errors and other oddities, like brockage and hobo nickel. It's been fun just learning about various stuff, like chop marks. MAYBE get the first item for a 7070 gold page

My 2013 goals... I enjoy old copper and bust half dollars. I have a decent collection of bust halves and have been looking for the missing piece - the 1815. So far it is out of my reach. In the old copper area I have decent Half Cents and Two Cents collections. My goal will be to upgrade my large cents. First on the list are 1808, 1811, 1821, and 1825. Of course I'm missing the 1793 but am hoping that Jeffrose is my Secret Santa and he will send me the 1793 from his collection. I'm looking forward to another great year in this wonderful community.

Quote: 4) Would like to add another 5 dimes to my Canadian dimes album. Working on the 1800's right now which is entire first page of my album. 1900 to date, minus the 1913 BL and 1921, is full. Might get the 1921 before the new year. There are 30 slots on first page and I have 11 filled. Coming into the $20, $30, $40 per dime price ranges now. Added that 1921 Canada Dime today in VG for $3 today via my LCS. :-) Yayyy!

I'll keep that in mind for next year. (I looked for a smilie to signify "when pigs fly" but there isn't one).

My collecting goals do not change year to year. My interests are across the whole of numismatics, but strictly in coins used for circulation, ancient to modern. To state my goals, I am an opportunist. Whenever anything interesting comes along, and is good value for the price, I will try to acquire it.
Over 40 years my collection has become as varied as it is interesting, even to a non coin person.

My goals for 2013 are to continue buying whatever coins I enjoy and maintain my interest in my hobby. Also to continue to enjoy the wisdom and banter of fellow ccf members and continue to help out whenever I can. I would also like to add another couple of pages of high grade Canberra florins to my collection of these coins Other than that it is "Game On" as usual

Well, its been close to 9-10 years for me since I havent collected. I was doing proof silvers from Gov. mints and proof gold from gov. mints... but also BU silvers and gold of those proof coins. going forward, from 2013 onward, I want to include proof silver from gov. and private mints. and I want to include some gold proof coins from The Royal Mint as well. I really like the low mintage of the coins. My emphasis will be on coins featuring animals, which is one reason I really like this Rwanda Wildlife series and I like that Canadian BU wildlife series as well. There's so much stuff out there from the private mints it blows my mind!

2012 saw me finish all but the first page of my Washington quarters (just the silver, I have not started on the clad yet). It's time in 2013 to chip away at that first page. I also would like to fill in three more Shield nickel holes.
