Right now I am focusing on the 2007-2011 Presidential dollars. Still have to finish filling the Dansco.

All of my collection consists entirely of pieces acquired as individuals, covering the whole of issued coinage from all cultures over 2,500 years. I have have made an effort to generalise my collection, not specialise it.
As such, my collection attracts interest from people who may have no numismatic interest themselves, but can appreciate the role of coinage in the development of World history.

There ARE one or two other collectors here in the CCF, who collect in this way, and have extensive collections, built up over decades.

I'm just passionate about coins! I would love a collection of every type, sub-type, year from any and every country in the world. I don't have any gold coins but have a few silver. But a complete collection of that type just isn't within my financial scope.
For me it is the sheer joy of coming across, say, a German one pfennig 1987J which I did not have in my collection as much as a British colonial silver Indian 1 rupee 1926.

I "kind of" do..... What I usually do is focus on a set and when it's complete or near complete I start focusing on another. However anything else I'm missing or that looks attractive I'll get too besides the set.

Example: A year ago I focused on Buffalo nickels until I managed to complete the series but was buying other coins too. For the past 6 months I've been working on the Mercury dime series and now only have one to go. Since the 1916-D is way out of my league when I get the only other one I'm missing.... the 1926-S ..... I'll consider it complete. I did this with Indianhead cents, Lincoln Wheat, 2 cent copper coins, Liberty nickels, Shield nickels and silver Roosevelt dimes too.

This has been going on for the past few years and it's worked for me..... my sets are complete or near complete with exceptions of a few key dates. It's always something to get.

I collected serie's for a long time and have about 25-30 completed Dansco albums. I started to get jaded though and switched to currency in area's that can't be completed just to keep from being bored. I am also trying do a type set similar to a 7070 but all NGC or PCGS slabbed.
