Inspired by the thread by GR58 regarding how you did on your 2012 collecting goals, I thought I would start this thread as well while we all have our minds on the topic. We can all look back in another year and see how we did.

What are your 2013 collecting goals?

My goals for 2013 is to be able to ......

1) Start and complete the 1oz koala bullion set

2) Start the silver maple leaf set again. Would like to be able to add 1 year per month.

3) Finish Canadian Large cent and small cent albums.

4) Would like to add another 5 dimes to my Canadian dimes album. Working on the 1800's right now which is entire first page of my album. 1900 to date, minus the 1913 BL and 1921, is full. Might get the 1921 before the new year. There are 30 slots on first page and I have 11 filled. Coming into the $20, $30, $40 per dime price ranges now.

5) Would like to buy 1858 Canada 20 cent in VF or better.

My goals are:

5 more Ancient coins, each of which will come from a different civilization.
An Elizabeth I hammered coin .
6 coins for my US typeset, either upgrades or new spots filled.
Finish Part 1 of the ANA YN Ancient Coin Project and start on Part 2.
I want to rebuild my coin storage.
Upgrade my macro photography set.

Edit:
Hopefully add two circulated classic commemorative to my US typeset, an Oregon Trail Half dollar and a Colombian Exposition Half dollar.

Along with a Long Island Tercentenary Half dollar (circulated with circulation Cameo) and the Pilgrim Tercentenary Half dollar (XF - AU), if I find one of either type.

Work on my Morgan dollar set: I won't ever finish it, but may try to add a few that I am missing.
Work on my US gold type set: a few left to get
Keep working on my Birth Year Set, but that has slowed down to a crawl.

Assemble a set of all small dollars released for circulation from bank rolls. All dates and designs at least, maybe not all mintmarks.

#1 - A new camera, probably a Canon T3i. Possibly a copy stand, bellows and appropriate lens for Morgan dollar photography.

#2 - Go through my Morgans I purchased back in the late seventies and try to attribute the VAM numbers.

#3 - Work on my Mercury dime and Walking Liberty half collections.

#4 - More Morgan dollar VAMs of course.

1. A few rolls of Morgans and Peace dollars.
2. A few rolls of ASE's.
3. A few rolls of Walking Liberty's.
4. Pre 65 Proof sets.
5. 1941, 42, and 43 MS67+ CAC Walking Liberty's to add to Registry set.
6. Sell something to see what that is like. May push this to 2014 depending on the silver market.

Stack more silver (junk and interesting world bullion)
Buy a roll of 2013 ASE
Finish my Franklin set (about 15 to go)
Finish my Prestige set (4 to go)
Keep buying modern commems
Add the first gold coin
Fill the 16d hole in my Merc set

Those would be my collecting goals in rough order of importance. Alot is going to depend on the price of silver.

My goal is pretty simple. Since I am in Dubai, I plan to stock up on gold and silver.

I'd also like to add to my counterfeit collection.

1. Learn more about specific areas of interest. ie. Gold dollars, Franklin halves, and Morgan dollars.
2. Buy more books to learn help with number 1.
3. Do more online research to help with number 1.
4. Fill some odd holes in the albums.

For 2013 I mostly hope to better organize what I already have after years of neglect.

That and pick up a few proof sets to fill in the gaps in my 1956 to date collection and start to assemble an NGC slabbed set of 1957's.

Oh yeah, and visit this place. Every time I come here it seems I learn something from you folks. Thanks.
