I spent $4 in twos to buy a 6" sub from Subway, then another $30 in twos to pay for gas. The cashier at the gas station ran those twos through a currency checker to make sure they were real. So that's a total of $34 in twos for the day.

$18,416 to go.

Used 3 $2's to pay the Toyota parts driver for my $60 lower control arm camber adjustment bolts since I had to cut the old ones out.

It's almost road worthy so I can spend my halves and dollar coins and $2's on gas and not tools and parts

$18,402 to go

A point of order -- if you receive a $2 note in change, does the count increase back towards $25k?

I would say it would not add back towards $25k. I order $2 notes from the bank, and I add them to my total to spend but they would not affect the count or total here until I spend them.

on a side note: if you get a $2 note in change, it means they are getting in circulation

I'm just preparing for that wonderful day when I actually do receive a $2 bill in change without prompting the cashier for one that I see awkwardly sticking out from their drawer.

Wanted to get the rules hammered out ahead of time.

I spent $16 in twos on a Mother's Clay Bar kit at Pep Boys. One of the co-cashiers asked to buy five of them, and I let him know that twos are still in production.

$18,386 to go.

Used 4 $2's towards new sway bar end links at NAPA for my truck.

$18,376 to go

I'm out of $2's for now so back to halves and dollar coins.

The only big purchase I have left now is a wheel alignment and tailgate latch strikers.
