It was there yesterday. That's where I got the information I posted about the set going on sale on 3/17 but no price listed.

Quote: I'm going to buy, but unlike last year, I am not going to be getting extras. At first they were holding value, but now it looks like people are dumping their 2013 extras at a loss. This ebay seller has the right idea to move a 2013 LESPS list it for $125 and charge $30 for shipping. 301490122795

Sorry, collectorofcoins - I missed your posting. I was so excited to see it listed there that I jumped the gun.

I'm glad to hear they are finally going to sell this product. I heard rumblings from people saying this set wasn't going to happen. It is good to know they were wrong.

The set is now on the mint's 2015 schedule also.

Lets hope with these extra months that they improved the packaging

I like the set, but don't think I'm buying extras either. I bough three last year. Sold one at cost and have been hanging on to another waiting to sell at cost. Nice set, but not a widely appreciated offering...

It was a mystery for me to begin with as to why these sets would gain in value (their price was already overinflated to begin with). None of the coins are unique to the set. The packaging is quite nice though and I assume this is the reason as to why the 2012 set is still selling for a premium, although its performance has been rather flat over the last year.

The 2012 LE set contains the PF half and dime which, because of the low PF set mintage, are the keys to the series...thus the price of the set (and the regular silver proof set)
No similar reason to buy the 2014

Quote: No similar reason to buy the 2014 Unless of course you consider that as of last Fri. sales of 2014 silver proof set stood at 404,000. Only 9,000 ahead pof the 2012 set. Even if you add on the normal 50,000 mintage of the LE set, that still makes the 2014 PF half and dime, the second lowest mintage in the series.

As pointed out, the rarity of the half and dime and the presentation combine to give it value.

Personally, I wouldn't call a coin with a total mintage of almost half a million "rare". But presentation may make up for it.
I still think that this set (among many others) is nothing but money grabbing by the US Mint.

I have to suspect that the packaging is a big reason the 2013 set is not doing well and may never do particularly well. I was shocked to find-out that the lens cover can be removed without any effort. At best, this is foolish, at worst incompetence on the part of the mint. Anyway, for me this is a major issue and a show-stopper for increasing value of the '14 LE set.

From another thread... Quote:I see that the 2014 LESP is finally on the schedule for 3/17/2015 although the price is still TBD. I'm guessing that they are debating whether to drop the price to $135 to match the drop in other silver items like the ASE. https://goccf.com/t/197061Would like to keep the discussion consolidated, so continue here.
