Quote:"The Ronald Reagan Coin & Chronicles set goes on sale Oct. 11 and will contain a Reverse Proof 2016-S Ronald Reagan Presidential dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint; a 1.5-inch bronze Ronald and Nancy Reagan medal; a booklet including images from President Reagan's life and presidency; an authentic engraved Ronald Reagan Presidential portrait produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing; and a Proof 2016-W American Eagle 30th Anniversary silver dollar. President Reagan signed into law the 1985 legislation, Title II of Public Law 99-61, Liberty Coin Act, approved July 9, 1985, authorizing the American Eagle series.)" That engraved portrait sounds nice. So it appears that I will have to be happy with the ASE and a bronze medal. I wonder what the medal looks like. Does anyone know if there is an existing product? Time to do some searching.

Quick search shows there was one in 2000. It looks decent enough to me. This set just got really interesting.

In the minority but I would rather have a silver medal and no ASE. The PF ASE is available elsewhere and not set specific Knocked down my interest a bit

I do agree, I really want the silver medal. Six of the seven presidential C&C sets have a silver medal (Lincoln being the exception). I may not be as happy, but I still want this set to go with the others. I suppose it could have been worse. Wait, I just realized, no stamps. The portrait, one ounce of silver, a bronze medal, Presidential dollar, and a booklet makes it more like the Teddy set (with a reverse proof dollar though). I liked the Teddy package more than the last five.

It just was scratched off my "gotta get it" list...it will be on sale forever: Quote: A maximum of 150,000 sets will be sold, according to the U.S. Mint, and there will be a 1-set limit per household. I guess the low mintage, interest creating sets are now off the agenda

lol does the mint really want to sell any of these?
kennnedy had a 50k limit with 2 per household and took a while to sell out. Reagan will not sell more than that imo

It will save me some cash though...
I was also keen on both the gold dime and quarter until the total mintage numbers were released and then passed. I kinda liked this set also but now add it to the "nope" list.
The one per is not as big a deal as the total number available and the months that they will be on sale.

If the ASE is something different in any way to the standard proof being sold these sets will sell out quickly.

The max mintage at 150k and HH limit of one is a bit confusing but I'm still getting at least one. But like the Teddy C&C set, I may just get one and be happy. I wouldn't be surprised if the HH limit is lifted on this set at some point due to these limits and the fact that there's no special finish on the ASE. The price of the proof ASE alone is almost 80% of the value of the C&C set, so it's a nice way to get a proof ASE with a RP Reagan dollar.

I like the set and would much rather have an ASE than a medal. I'm hoping the mint is being sneaky with the ASE and it does turn out to be something different, but I'm not holding my breathe.
